Regional spotlight

Central Scotland covers the regions between Glasgow and Edinburgh, Lanarkshire, Fife and the Lothians. It is home to famous golf courses, including St Andrews and Muirfield, coastal stretches, shopping centres, the remains of the Roman Antonine Wall, the Forth & Clyde Canal with it's gravity defying Falkirk Wheel boat lift, and Historic Stirling Castle, where the Kings and Queens of Scotland lived in hill top splendour. Stirling itself is known as the gateway to the Highlands, and they do appear quickly for travellers heading northwards up the spine of the country and into Perthshire, or big tree country as it's known. . If you're doing any kind of a road trip, you're likely to pass through this region, so make sure you make time to explore it's many and varied delights.
